MAKING BOOKINGS

To avoid disappointment, It is necessary to make a booking to visit the elephants. The elephants spend a lot of their time a fair distance from Reception walking and feeding out in the Bush and only come in when we have a booking.

Bookings can be made online, or call us on 082 498-4683 or email reservations@elephantwhispers.co.za.

We monitor our Facebook as much as possible, but are not online all the time. Please rather call us, especially if you are wanting to make a booking for that day, or for the next day or so.

GROUP FUNCTIONS AND SPECIAL OCCASIONS

We love being part of your special occasions and celebrations, please feel free to contact us with your requests. With the elephant’s well-being in mind, we try as far as possible to make your dream a reality.

FILMING THE ELEPHANTS

Should you be interested in filming the elephants for a documentary please contact reservations and provide as much detail as possible.

EXCLUSIVE BOOKINGS

Elephant Whispers can be booked on an exclusive basis, please contact reservations for a quote.

CAN WE ACCOMPANY VISITORS TO THE ELEPHANTS

We are often asked if one person can pay for the elephant activity and their partner accompany them to the elephant to take photos. As much as we love seeing people enjoy the elephant activities, we do try limit the number of people at each activity, therefore only paying visitors may do the activity. Our staff are very experienced with most types of cell phones and cameras, and can happily assist taking photographs.

We can assist organising transfers to Elephant Whispers, please contact reservations.

CHILD POLICY

We welcome children of all ages (under adult supervision) for the Elephant Interactions; the minimum age for activities which include Walking with the Elephant is five years. The minimum age for riding the elephants is four years.

Children age twelve and under qualify for the children’s rates. Children age thirteen years and over will be charged the full adult rate.

Children walking with the elephant must be accompanied by a parent, or guardian, and will be at the discretion of management.

VOLUNTEERING

Elephant Whispers do not have a Volunteer Program, and are unable to facilitate Volunteers.

Should you want to spend more time with the elephant, we offer the Half Day with the Elephant activity.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Safety precautions are explained in detail before your elephant activity.

Before meeting the elephants, guests are required to sign an indemnity.

THE BEST TIME TO VISIT ELEPHANT WHISPERS

The elephant activities can be enjoyed throughout the year. Should inclement weather affect your visit, Elephant Whispers will endeavour to re-schedule your reservation. Booking is essential to ensure availability.

WHAT TO BRING WHEN YOU VISIT ELEPHANT WHISPERS

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Light comfortable clothing for day tours, especially during the summer
  • A light jacket for the early morning and late afternoon winter programmes
  • For the early morning and late afternoon programmes in the summertime, it is wise to apply mosquito repellent
  • Sun Hat
  • Sun Screen
  • Camera with a spare memory card and extra batteries

We have a small curio shop guests are welcome to browse to buy that special elephant memory.

FOOD, DRINKS & MEALS

Refreshments can be purchased at Elephant Whispers. There are a number of restaurants in the area; at the nearby Hippo Hollow Hotel, and also at Perry’s Bridge Centre.
